Delivery Example:

P.E. Portfolio Integration / ERP Implementation

Stack of digitally printed and fulfilled custom photo books

Scenario: This project involved a private equity-owned portfolio of four nationwide commercial construction companies with combined revenues of $1.2 billion. The objective was to integrate these companies onto a single ERP platform (IFS) and implement a standardized set of future-state business practices that would be used across the board. The specific scope that I managed spanned construction estimation and execution, fabrication supporting internal construction and external customers, procurement, planning, inventory, suppliers, logistics, and asset management.

As the project lead for the areas outlined above, I lead a team comprised of additional consultants, ERP application provider SME's (subject mater experts) and a wide variety of client internal and external stakeholders.

Phase 1: Conducted a current state, Level 2 process mapping exercise across all four organizations and led client teams through identification and documentation process.

Phase 2: Developed the future state Target Operating Model (TOM), comprised of 2,200+ business requirements and 87 fully documented CRIMS (customization, report, integration, modification) of the IFS Cloud ERP system necessary to meet required business requirements. Facilitated the IFS configuration development process engaging client and application provider resources

Phase 3: Created future state Level 4 process maps (67) with documented tie-outs to TOM documentation. Facilitated the development and documentation process engaging client and application provider resources.

Phase 4: Facilitated IFS Cloud ERP configuration and setup discussions following TOM business requirements and process map documented criteria between my team, the client team, and the application SME resources.

Phase 5: Facilitated IFS Cloud ERP system education and training. Validated that system configuration and user training tied-out to TOM business requirments, CRIMs and process mapped documentation. Participants included my team, the client team, and the application SME resources.

Phase 6: Facilitated IFS system AST (application system testing), CRIM testing, data migration testing and UAT (user acceptance testing). Participants included my team, the client team, and the application B.A. resources.

Metrics:

  • 2,200+ business requirements documented in the future state Target Operating Model (TOM)
  • 87 fully documented CRIMS (customizations, reports, integrations, modifications) of IFS ERP application needed to meet required business requirements
  • 67 future state Level 4 process maps documented with tie-outs to TOM documentation

Future State: Areas that the client may want to consider for future improvement include implementing data analytics tools to gain insights into business performance and identify areas for further optimization. Developing predictive maintenance capabilities to prevent unplanned equipment downtime and increase asset utilization. Conducting periodic assessments of business processes to identify areas for further improvement and optimization.

Outcome: Along with the primary goals of integrating four operating entities onto a shared practices platform and the organization-wide implementation of the IFS loud ERP system, The client gained several benefits, including improved operational efficiency, streamlined business processes, enhanced asset tracking and management, and increased customer satisfaction.
